Iterate organizes world-class hackathons all around the world. We bring together top-tier engineering talent and leading AI companies (like Anthropic, DeepMind, Mistral…) to build the future. The events are only the surface. Underneath, we're building three things in parallel:
- A fully automated recruiting agency: the layer that lets the best AI companies hire from our talent pool, turning every hackathon into a high-signal sourcing engine.
- An internal agent that runs our day-to-day operations, from sourcing and onboarding of hackers & potential hires for our customers to end-to-end execution of our hackathons.
- The Iterate platform: a consumer-grade product that hosts thousands of hackers, judges, and companies during every competition.
We build our own software to keep our standard of excellence high. We're now looking for a Cracked Engineer to take ownership across all three.
Role & Responsibilities
You will have full ownership of the codebase across our three product lines. The work is deliberately broad: an event tool one week, a recruiter dashboard the next, an agent capability the week after.
- Build our recruiting agents: the entire stack that we'll use to match our talent with the right companies for them, at scale.
- Extend our internal agent: add capabilities, tools, and integrations so it handles more of our day-to-day every month.
- Build and ship the Iterate platform: the event engine that hosts thousands of hackers, judges, and partner companies during each competition. Make it feel consumer-grade.
- Contribute to the AI research adjacent work we can't fully disclose yet. If you want to be close to model behavior, evals, and agent design, this is where you'll live.
- Own the stack: high fluency with AI tools, deployment and orchestration of agents, plus experience with frontend (React, Next.js), backend, database (Supabase), infra. End to end.
- Ship fast. We deploy multiple times a week. You build it, you test it, you push it.
Who You Are
- A perfectionist. Details matter. We expect clean code and an even cleaner UX/UI.
- Product-minded. You can take a vague goal ("make team formation easier", "let companies shortlist 10 hackers in 10 minutes", "give the agent memory") and come back with a plan, then implement it.
- High agency. You spot problems in the codebase or the product and fix them without waiting for a ticket.
- AI native. You use AI tools to move significantly faster than a traditional dev. But you push back on bad suggestions, implement iteratively, and review the code yourself. The AI helps you type. You own what ships.
- AI-curious. You want to understand how agents work, where they break, and how to push them further. You don't need a PhD, but you should care about the models you're calling.
- Comfortable shipping across very different surface areas in the same week. Context-switching is the job.
